VIP Island Conceptual Master Plan
The project involved a multi use conceptual development master plan for the 128-acre VIP Island. This island, being foreseen as the exclusive address in Abu Dhabi, will consist of modern high-rise and traditional mid-rise residential homes of varying density coupled with a signature hotel, a high-rise commercial office development, and marinas. The development also includes residential amenities, supporting private marinas and various cultural amenities, totaling 15 million square feet.
Concepts considered as part of the planning phase included making the island a vehicle-free zone; developing an island golf course; incorporating a high-end yacht marina; creating a research and wellness complex; and designing an exclusive office park with adjacent executive level housing.
The development is being planned to house 7,700 residents and will have office capacity for 7,200 workers. This iconic development will provide residents a place where they can live in an exclusive community afforded by views of the Abu Dhabi skyline.
Our basic goals were to achieve the development of the conceptual design involving high standards in architecture and planning.
